My name is Barb and my family has been on the journey to a more sustainable and frugal life for many years. While raising our children we have made many "corporate moves" and that was difficult for a person who just wanted to stay put. However there was a trend - with every move we found ourselves living on a larger piece of property, till we got here and my husband thought we had fallen off the face of the earth.
Shortly after we moved in, the children, (which they were then) stood on the hill that overlooks the paved road below us and and yelled, "Hey Mom! Traffic jam-there are three cars on the road." FYI- It was the volunteer firemen going to a fire!

Here we are on a 30 acre farm, living in an old barn surrounded by beautiful rolling rolls and acres and acres of corn and soybeans. However on our land we graze horses and goats
and also raise chickens.
and also raise chickens.
Sadly the raising of children is for the most part over. Mother to four, and homeschooling mom to three, my goal is to finish creating a home where they truly wish to come home to so we can make more memories in this phase of our lives.
Homeschooling is near and dear to my heart. After the homeschool kids left home, one studied in Japan and China and worked in Asia and is now back in the good old USA to do more schooling.
One is an Electrical Engineer with a Bio-Medical Emphasis, and the third is a Harp Performance Major and
presently a member of the honor society Phi Beta Kappa,
at the University.
We enjoy the fruits of our herb and vegetable gardens.
We enjoy whole foods and traditional cooking.
We love stretching what we have to create a comfortable and loving home.
Join me on my journey
room by room,
acre by acre,
recipe by recipe,
on this adventure to finish our home
to create a warm and welcoming home
on a budget
where people will
feel love and warmth.
feel love and warmth.
